Collaboration Over Competition 4th Annual Youth Entrepreneur Pitch Contest 

Rules and Guidelines

Eligibility:

  1. The contest is open to youth entrepreneurs between the ages of 9 and 19.

Pitch Content:

  1. Each participant must pitch an original business idea or an existing business that they own or co-own.
  2. The pitch should include a description of the business, its products or services, target market, unique selling points, and potential for growth.
  3. Participants should clearly articulate the problem their business solves and the value it provides to customers.
  4. The pitch should not exceed 5 minutes, followed by a Q&A session from the judges.

Judging Criteria:

  1. Creativity and Innovation: The originality and creativity of the business idea.
  2. Feasibility: The viability and potential for success of the business.
  3. Presentation Skills: The clarity, confidence, and persuasiveness of the participant's pitch.
  4. Impact: The potential positive impact of the business on the community or target market.
  5. Business Plan: The quality of the participant's business plan, including thoroughness and coherence.

Registration and Submission:

  1. Participants must register for the contest by August 31, 2024 providing their personal details and a brief overview of their business idea.
  2. The 60 second pitch can be submitted through video, no later than October 13,  2024 (Failure to submit your 60 second video will result in disqualification from the contest).

Prizes and Recognition:

  1. Winners will be selected based on the judging criteria and may receive cash prizes and mentorship opportunities,  to support their business ventures.
  2. All participants will receive certificates of participation and recognition for their entrepreneurial efforts.
  3. The top pitches will be featured on the Collaboration Over Competition website and  social media platforms.

Code of Conduct:

  1. Participants are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully throughout the contest.
  2. Plagiarism or misrepresentation of ideas will result in disqualification.
  3. Any form of discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may lead to immediate expulsion from the contest.

Disclaimer:The organizers reserve the right to modify the rules and guidelines of the contest at their discretion and to disqualify any participant who violates the terms or spirit of the competition.

By participating in the contest, all participants agree to abide by these rules and guidelines and accept the decisions of the judges as final.
